I appreciated the room and its traditional decor. It included a comfortable bed and a private bathroom. - the hotel was just off the island, the ocean, and the town center. - the property was at the end of the road, as I expected.

A lovely stay with a parking lot for my fancy car, a garden to stroll around, and a free continental breakfast to satisfy my posh appetite. Cons: Oh, how I adored the free WiFi, just wish it was available in my grand room!

The location was fantastic, with easy access to multiple walking trails and the beach. The local villagers were friendly and we got to experience their traditions during a small festival. the homemade breakfast was delicious and offered a great start to the day.
There were a few small drawbacks during our stay. the toaster in our room didn't work.

Lovely garden, free parking - perfect for my fancy car. A tasty continental breakfast to start the day right. Free WiFi - now I can post my snobby hotel selfies! Shops nearby for unnecessary shopping sprees. Played table tennis like a pro!
Such a shame there wasn't a Michelin-starred restaurant in the guest house. How dare they!

I recently stayed at Residencia Mateus in Faja Grande for 10 days and it was one of the best places I've stayed during my 10-day trip to the Azores. The location was perfect, with beautiful views of waterfalls and the sea, and just a 2-minute walk to the ocean and town center. The room was excellent, with all the amenities I needed, including a kettle, wine glasses, and a selection of towels. The daily cleaning and change of towels were also appreciated. The breakfast was delicious, featuring local products like cheese, bread, and jams. The hosts were incredibly friendly. a fantastic stay!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.
